Easy air fryer banana bread

To make easy air fryer banana bread, start by selecting ripe bananas, ideally with plenty of brown spots, as they are naturally sweeter and softer, which gives the bread better flavor and texture. Peel the bananas and place them in a mixing bowl, then mash them thoroughly with a fork until smooth, leaving only small lumps. Add sugar according to your taste, followed by eggs, a splash of milk, and a little oil or melted butter. Mix everything together until well combined and slightly creamy.

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients, which include all-purpose flour, baking powder, a pinch of baking soda, and a small amount of salt to balance the sweetness. You can also add cinnamon or vanilla extract for extra flavor if you like. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet banana mixture, folding gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the bread dense instead of soft and fluffy.

Prepare a small cake tin or loaf pan that fits inside your air fryer by lightly greasing it or lining it with baking paper. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly. If you want, you can add extras like chopped nuts or chocolate chips at this stage.

Preheat the air fryer to around 160°C (320°F), which is slightly lower than oven temperature to allow the bread to cook evenly without burning on top. Place the pan carefully into the air fryer basket and cook for about 25 to 35 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the size of your air fryer and the thickness of the batter, so it is important to check it occasionally. If the top starts browning too quickly, you can loosely cover it with foil to prevent over-browning while the inside continues to cook.

Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick or knife into the center; if it comes out clean or with only a few crumbs, the banana bread is ready. Once cooked, remove the pan from the air fryer and let the bread cool for at least 10 to 15 minutes before taking it out of the pan. This helps it set properly and makes slicing easier.

Slice and serve the banana bread warm or at room temperature. It should be soft, moist, and lightly sweet, with a rich banana flavor. You can enjoy it on its own or with a spread of butter for extra richness.
