Air Fryer Beef Tenderloin
Ingredients
- 1 beef tenderloin steak (200–300 g / 7–10 oz, about 1.5–2 inches thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon chopped rosemary or thyme (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3–5 minutes. - Prepare the Steak
Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. Rub it with olive oil. Season evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and herbs if using. - Cook the Steak
Place the steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 200°C (400°F) and flip halfway through:- Rare: 8–9 minutes
- Medium-rare: 10–11 minutes
- Medium: 12–13 minutes
- Rest the Meat
Remove the steak from the air fryer. Add a small piece of butter on top if desired. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
Internal Temperature Guide
- Rare: about 50°C / 122°F
- Medium-rare: about 54°C / 130°F
- Medium: about 60°C / 140°F
Serving Suggestions
Serve with roasted vegetables, potatoes, garlic mushrooms, or a fresh salad.
Tip
If cooking a whole beef tenderloin (500 g – 1 kg) instead of a steak, cook at 200°C (400°F) for approximately 18–25 minutes, depending on thickness, and check the internal temperature for doneness.
