Air Fryer Beef Tenderloin

Air Fryer Beef Tenderloin

Ingredients

  • 1 beef tenderloin steak (200–300 g / 7–10 oz, about 1.5–2 inches thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chopped rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3–5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Steak
Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. Rub it with olive oil. Season evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and herbs if using.
  3. Cook the Steak
Place the steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 200°C (400°F) and flip halfway through:
    • Rare: 8–9 minutes
    • Medium-rare: 10–11 minutes
    • Medium: 12–13 minutes
  4. Rest the Meat
Remove the steak from the air fryer. Add a small piece of butter on top if desired. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

Internal Temperature Guide

  • Rare: about 50°C / 122°F
  • Medium-rare: about 54°C / 130°F
  • Medium: about 60°C / 140°F

Serving Suggestions

Serve with roasted vegetables, potatoes, garlic mushrooms, or a fresh salad.

Tip

If cooking a whole beef tenderloin (500 g – 1 kg) instead of a steak, cook at 200°C (400°F) for approximately 18–25 minutes, depending on thickness, and check the internal temperature for doneness.
